Sherry Douden - Executive Director

I have experienced grief often and early in my life.  In fact, in my early 20’s I had been present with four beloved family members as they transitioned from life to death. The transitions caused me to pause and not only take a look at how I was living, but how I was loving. In fact, after my husband of 9 years passed away, I transitioned from a Business Degree and working in retail, to Counseling Psychology and later founded “New Mourning”  in 2004. A lot has happened since those early days, but one thing remains the same. Many of us are ill prepared for losses, even those that occur through healthy life transitions like graduating high school, starting a family, or starting a new job.

Meet the Team

I see myself as an enthusiastic and goal oriented professional with great deal of experience working with individuals with acute disorders.

Michelle Walters is an Associate Marriage and Family therapist who is experienced in working with PTSD issues.

Eddie is experienced with working with people suffering from substance abuse, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, PTSD, and various trauma.

We will work together to create a greater awareness into who you are, and promoting positive changes that will work for your individual needs.

I am truly passionate about what I do. I am committed to ensuring a client’s safety and to help the client find those “breakthrough” moments.

Everyone is unique, has a story to tell, and has wounds to heal. We all have times in our life when we need extra support and help.

Life can be hard and painful at times. With compassion, support, and understanding, I am eager to walk with those who suffer.

Lisa strives to foster a safe space where clients can tell their story, gain insight into how that has impacted them, and create a new reality that is more fulfilling.

My expertise in severe mental health allows me the opportunity to support and empower my clientele through significant challenges that impact their daily lives.

Therapy is my calling, and it is my belief that therapy should always be a safe space where individuals, families, and couples can seek guidance to grow.
